I don’t know much more than you do, at this point–Alloy, which owns half of Sweep, made the deal. But I really love the screenwriter they’ve hired for the adaptation–he adapted one of my favorite movies, Chocolat, and has done several other terrific movies, so I feel like I’m in good hands.
But I don’t know anything about the schedule or timeline or casting–I won’t be involved in any of that. The author usually isn’t, unless they’re much bigger and more powerful than I am!

What’s really perplexed me is all the negative comments on some of the film sites, with people hating on Sweep without having read any of them, and saying it’s just like Harry Potter and Twilight. It’s so weird! Why don’t they read one of them first? Then they can hate on it if they want. It’s the dissing without knowing what they’re talking about that’s freaking me out.
But anyway: Sweep movie, possibly. Many things can still not work out. But my fingers are crossed. Thanks so much for all your support!
hi i LOVE the sweep series i started reading them when i was eleven my grampa gave me the book for christmas i didn’t get to read it right away because i already had a long line of books to read but when i did read it i found out it was the best book EVER. i never got to read the first three he gave me the fourth and fifth and sixth i am so excited for the movie i like morgan and hunter the best in the books because they seem like they really are alive somewhere and i finished the whole series i liked nights child the best it was by far the best book i like how they find hunter but i wish that there was more books after that like other people said it’s like losing a friend when when it’s over and wow this is really long but please cate make more books please and i am super phsyched about the movie
YAY!!! since i first started reading the sweep series i always thought it would make a great movie. only i hope its done in a couple movies so they dont leave out anything good. im so excited! i was 14 when i read the series. im still working on getting all the books. its one of my fav serious. i read books like a chocoholic eats chocolate

Hi Cate, first and foremost I love the Sweep series. I started reading the series back in 2001. I was just wondering why the covers to series have changed. I know it has nothing to do with the actual story, however, the oringinal covers seem to fit the story better. In my opinion at least.
Hi Cate … I have fallen in love with the entire “Sweep” series – and I am so glad that I have discovered your books before the movie. Although I thoroughly enjoy a great movie (which I’m sure it will be) … Movies never seem to do the book justice. I am glad I have read your books so my mind’s eye can envision Morgan and all of her plights and conquests before the director fastens his vision to the masses. Thank you for your vision – for your soul pored upon the pages of your book. I look forward having more adventures customized by your inter-being.
I really hope they make the movies! I just recently have gotten all the books I had been missing in the series. They have a lovely home on my book shelf now.

I love sweep books. I have always wished that they would be made into a tv show so each week we could see more chapter by chapter. I have read and re read this series with each time unable to put them down. this is not like harry or twilight it is sooooooooooooooooo much better
I loved your books in grade school and I still do!!! I’m just finding it hard to see the series, even if they just do several of the books (to see if the response is trilogy worthy), as a movie… I would much rather see Sweep as a TV series, wouldn’t you?! I’d rather have the story played out for longer and I can see so many cliff hanger moments as season finales! I can see it as having a feel much like the Vampire Diaries. It has no problem capturing a teen audience and it can be dark and moody, with melodramatic soundtracks, not unlike all the good supernatural shows out there… Honestly it can compete with the best of them, given the right casting, writers and directing. Sweep deserves a longer runtime: the relationships and characters need to be fleshed out for more than just 2 hours!!!
Omibob! A movie!?! I really hope that it all turns out well. I honestly love this series; it is one of my favorites and I hope it is done justice.
It is true that a TV series would be cooler, but a movie is still cool. I just hope that the essence of the novels is captured rather than just the story’s surface.

i love the wicca series (its known as that in the uk) i’ve bin reading them since i was 11 i have them all i hope they really do make a movie although it would be good as a series i just hope they get it right and don’t leave anything out or change anything i wish you would make more of the wicca series i didnt want it to end i cried at the last book

My aunt gave the first and second volume for Christmas and every time I finished one volume I bought another and the fifth volume comes out in December.The only reason I get the book in December is because I buy them in volumes which has 3 books in each volume and there’s 5 volume and only have 4 of them because the 5th one comes out in December. I can’t wait !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its been many years since I’ve read the Sweep series (I’ve got to buy three more to complete my series, then its on!)… But I remember devouring one book after the next (as a teenager) – such a fantastic series! Just have to say thank you so much for taking the time to write such a wonderful and intricate world! And so … as you might imagine, I’m delighted to hear that there could be a movie! Fingers crossed it makes it to New Zealand’s shores

I’m glad Sweep is getting the attention it deserves. It’s an amazing series. But, I think at least, it would be better suited to a TV series… It is a rather lengthy series with lots of characters. Ah well… I’m still excited to see what happens.
I love the books and I have been saying that they should make the series in to a movie I am so existed I think that the movie will take off that is how good the book are.

I’ve been addicted to the series for over a year now and I love it! It’s so much better then Twilight and Harry Potter although I love those as well. I hope the movie comes out and I look forward to seeing it as well. Great job on the books. Their wonderful!

I love the sweep series my mom bought me the first two volumes for me last christmas ever since then my allowence was the books one at a time and i’d read one a day i was so in love with this series and i hate to read when i was done with all of them I was sad because i didn’t have anything to do after that. I can’t wait for the movies I hope they choose the characters wisely.

That’s fantastic! Congratulations! I first started reading the series when I was 13 and have read it at least two other times! I’m 21 now and have just started up on it again and it is so nostalgic, I just love it!
I was working at my library when I saw the Book of Shadows. It was brand new and it seemed like a book I would enjoy. I was hooked on the series by then end of the first book and went out and bought the ones that were out at the time and from then continued on. I loved them so much and love them still. I am constantly trying to get others to read them. And when I find others who have and enjoyed them as well I feel like I made a new friend!

OMG! a movie about the Sweep series, im in love with the book. Since ive started reading it if been mesmorized. i love the character Morgan, and Hunter, and even Cal. i was shoked that Cal was evil, he sounded irresistable. but how many guys with a dark side arent. Anyways, im reading the series for the second time and i cant get enough. i feel like im right there in the story, sometimes i even feel like i could be morgan. She’s very relatable and can easily be viewed. keep up the good work, and i hope your movie will be a success
Sweep is one of the best fictional books in Witchcraft. Even though it is fictional, it displayed the love of the characters to the Goddess and I love the presentation of Wicca in these books. It also showed the Craft in a clearer perspective…
God, I read these in 8th grade and they were AMAZING. Now that I forgot most of them. I’m reading them again. Its tantalizing how the suspense is still in my nerves. <3 love this series. And yeah, don't even compare these books to others. These are just the best in the world. (:
I absolutely LOVE the Sweep books. I think they would make a great movie. But they should do it somewhat like the twilight books and not combine all of the books into one but make sequels of them.

Hey! I just became Christian Wiccan, and was looking for a Wiccan book. It’s SOO hard finding them, since I live in GA, the Southern Baptist state! Anyway, I went to a store one day, and found a book called Sweep. I thought to myself ‘that sounds Wiccan’! Unfortunately, it was the last three books in the series, but when I looked on the back, and read the first two names ‘Book of Shadows’ and ‘The Coven’, I knew it HAD to be Wiccan, so I went on a relentless search, until I found the first three books. Now I’m on the third! Thanks so much for helping me in my Wiccan studies!
